Safari Overview

Day 1; Pick up from the airport and transfer to your lodge for briefing, dinner, and an overnight. Accommodation at papyrus guest house.

Day 2; Transfer to Kibale forest national park. Accommodation at Rwenzori guesthouse.

Day 3; Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk.

Day 4; Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, have lunch at your lodge, and set out for an evening game drive. Accommodation at Buffalo guest house.

Day 5; Morning game drive and a boat trip in the afternoon. Accommodation at Buffalo guesthouse

Day 6; depart for Ishasha sector and later go for the game drive in search of tree climbing lions. Accommodation at Ishasha jungle lodge.

Day 7; A morning game drive in Ishasha sector and later transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park with packed lunch and accommodation at Lake Bunyonyi Eco-resort.

Day 8; Gorilla tracking in the morning and Batwa trail in the evening. Accommodation at Lake Bunyonyi Eco-resort.

Day 9; Transfer to Lake Mburo national park. Accommodation at Rwakobo rock lodge.

Day 10; Transfer from Lake Mburo national park to Entebbe international airport.

        



Safari/Trip details
  • 1 - Arrival at Entebbe international airport

    On arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be warmly welcomed by Gorillas Sights Safaris representative [Guide] who will then transfer you to your lodge for briefing, and an overnight.



  • 2 - Kibale forest national park

    After breakfast, you will depart Entebbe for kibale forest national park, have lunch on the way, arriving in the afternoon. Kibale forest is a range protected block of rain forest, which has the highest number of primates in Africa such as chimpanzees, grey cheeked Mangabey, red tailed monkeys, Guereza colobus. have a relaxed evening and overnight at Rwenzori guesthouse. 


  • 3 - Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi swamp walk.

    You will have an early morning breakfast, you will go chimpanzee trekking and be part of the team that goes to study the behaviors of these primates, spend the whole morning in the forest returning to the lodge for lunch. later in the after, you will go a guided nature walk through Bigodi swamp.

    Bigodi wetland sanctuary is managed by Kibale association formed for rural and environmental organisation formed in 1992 with the aim of achieving social and economical development for the local community.this swamp is a home of approximately 137 bird species and its rich in vegetation, such as wild palms, figs and dominant papyrus. 


  • 4 - Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.

    After breakfast, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. you will arrive in the afternoon and have a game drive as you are proceeding to your lodge for lunch. you will later depart for an evening game drive.

    Queen Elizabeth national park boosts one of the highest bio-diversity ratings of any game park or reserve in Uganda. from the open Savannah to rain forests, dense papyrus swamps and brooding crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. Almost 100 mammals species that include Lions, Hippos, Buffaloes, Leopards, Spotted Hyenas, Elephants, and elusive giant forest hogs plus remarkable 606 bird species that include the Black Chested Eagle, the Swallow Tailed bee eaters and among others. primates include Chimpanzees, Guereza Colobus, Blue monkeys and Red Tailed monkeys and Olive Baboons. reptiles like huge Rock Python,Puff Adders, spitting cobras, Gabon vipers, green mambas, and turtles. All these are regularly sighted around the tourist village on the Mweya peninsular and this makes it a superb safari territory.


  • 5 - Game drive and boat cruise

    This morning, you will go for a game drive to Kasenyi area returning to the lodge for a heartily breakfast.

    Relax and later go out for the afternoon boat trip along the Kazinga channel, hippos' huff and spread a mere feet away from the boat, buffaloes in the wallows, a tremendous variety of bird species on the shores ie great white and pink backed pelicans, great and long tailed cormorants, African open bill stork, African Jacana, malachite and pied kingfishers among others are commonly seen.


  • 6 - Ishasha sector

    After breakfast you will have a game drive proceeding to the southern sector of queen Elizabeth national park.[Ishasha] famed for tree climbing lions. you will have lunch at the lodge. Relax and later set off for an evening game drive where you will spot lions hanging on fig trees, herds of Topis  and head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.


  • 7 - Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park

    After breakfast you will have a game drive in search for tree climbing lions and bird watching and later depart for kisoro passing through kabala with beautiful scenery of hills and valleys and the views of terraced hills.

    You will move direct to your lodge to rest and get ready for the following day's gorilla tracking exercise.


  • 8 - Gorilla tracking

    You will have to wake up very early in the morning to get ready for gorilla tracking, don't forget your packed lunch and all necessary gears to track the rare mountain gorilla, perhaps its the most exciting wildlife experience on earth.

    There are now only 100,000 left in  the wild.the tracking may take between 2-6 hours but its well worth the effort.there are always ranger guides with you who interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the gorillas. in the evening you will relax at your hotel.


  • 9 - Batwa community visit and transfer to Lake Mburo national park

    You will go for an optional Batwa community in Nyakabande where you will be entertained and then drive to Lake Mburo national park where you will have a game drive while entering the park.

    Lake Mburo is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebras, impalas, elands and other Savannah species. for birders, this is the best place to find the African Fin foot, Papyrus Gonolek, Bush shrikes etc. Have an evening game drive and an overnight at Rwakobo Rock lodge.


  • 10 - Game drive and depart for Entebbe airport

    After breakfast, you will set off for a guided nature walk or a game drive and later exit the park having a stopover to look at drum makers, the Equator where you will be able to stand on both Southern and Northern hemispheres at once, have lunch and embark on the route to Entebbe international airport for your flight back home.
