Bwindi National Park is home to half of the world’s remaining gorillas deep in the south -western part of Uganda. This journey gives you the opportunity of once in a lifetime to see these endangered species in their natural habitat. A must do for every discerning tourist. Here, at Bwindi National Park, home to half of the world’s remaining gorillas, you will enter one of the most biologically diverse ecosystems in Africa on an expedition to find a close-knit gorilla family and your chance of coming close to one is 98%.


Safari/Trip details
  • 1 - To Bwindi National Park

     Meet and greet our company representative who will assist you with anything you will need for your safari. Transfer to Bwindi Forest- the home of Mountain Gorillas close to the border of Rwanda. See a great country-side of bamboo forest and have great views of landscape


  • 2 - Gorilla Trekking

    Prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s rare mountain gorilla. You will be required to wake up early and report to the visitor’s information center where you will be briefed on the procedure for gorilla trekking as well as allocated guides before heading out to the forest in search of the gorillas.

    Apart from the gorillas, Bwindi Forest boasts of other primate species such as the chimpanzees the only forest in Africa which can claim this, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds.

    Your trek will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorillas’ habitat. En-route, your guide will point out signs of previous Gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots.

    The time taken to track the Gorillas can take as little as 2 hours or more. Once the Gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’.



  • 3 - Departure

    Today you transfer back to the starting point of your safari.

    Please Note-Accommodation for tonight is not inclusive in the program. This trip can be undertaken by both Road and by Air, however if you do choose the road option and wish to depart tonight from Entebbe Airport, make sure your flight is at 10 pm or later. If you would like us to book one or more nights in Kampala or Entebbe, please let us know.
